Crotta di Prado

The family-owned winery is located in Jovençan, a small town with 750 inhabitants at 6 km from Aosta, on Dora Baltea river orographic right.
The name "Prado" comes from the nickname was given us arriving at this town due to our surname (Praz).
The winery has always produced wine for family use: since the 80s began to sell table wine. In the early nineties the production has expanded to DOC wines with 3,000 bottles to get to 13,000 bottles now.
The vineyards, facing north, are all small-sized (15 parcels from 700 to 1000 m²). Some of them are steeply sloping and, thus, require manual work.
The wines, all DOP, are produced in the winery-owned wine cellar.
The wines produced are:
- Torrette (70% Petit Rouge and other autochthonous varieties; 4,500 bottles), from 50 to 100-year-old vineyards.
